TRADITIONAL ENGLISH FOOD

English breakfast is one of the most internationally recognized British dishes and it’s often called „full English”. It usually consists of bacon, sausages, eggs, fried mushrooms, fried tomatoes, baked beans and toasted bread. It also includes drinks such as coffee or tea.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fish and chips is a hot dish of English origin consisting of fried fish and hot chips. You can eat this dish in almost every English pub. Fish and chips has been served as a takeaway so traditionally it was wrapped in a newspaper.

 

 

 

 

 

Five o’clock tea is  a light meal in the afternoon between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.. Usually, it consists of tea and sandwiches or cookies. Princess Anna Bedford is considered to be the first who introduced the tradition on England.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Christmas pudding is a type of pudding traditionally served as part of the Christmas dinner in Britain, Ireland and in other countries.  It is a specific cake-like dish which consits of dried fruits, among them raisins, figs, prunes and glacé fruits, as well as citrus zest and nuts. Eggs, breadcrumbs and suet (beef or mutton fat from around the kidney) helps hold the mixture of fruits and nuts together.
